Pleanáil Teanga_

Is é Cill Dara le Gaeilge an ceanneagraíocht i gContae Chill Dara atá i mbun pleanáil teanga sa chontae. Cuireadh tús leis an bpróiséas pleanáil teanga i gContae Chill Dara siar i 2017 i gcomhpháirt le Sult na Sollán agus tar éis sraith ceardlanna, suirbhé pobail, cruinnuithe poiblí, tar éis iomaí dréacht a scríobh agus a hathscríobh, seoladh an chéad plean teanga don Ghaeilge i gContae Chill Dara ar 28 Feabhra 2019 in Áras Chill Dara, Nás na Ríogh.

Is plean cúig bliana atá i gceist don tréimhse 2019 – 2023. Tús maith, leath na hoibre. Ar aghaidh linn anois – táimid ag iarradh an plean seo a fhorbairt, táimid ag iarradh gréasán a neartú idir gníomhaithe teangan agus daoine/grúpaí eile sa chontae atá ag obair ar son na Gaeilge.

Cill Dara le Gaeilge is the lead organisation in County Kildare which is involved in language planning in the county. The language planning process in County Kildare began back in 2017 in conjunction with Sult na Sollán and following a series of workshops, a community survey, public meetings, following the writing and rewriting of many drafts, the first Irish language plan for the Irish language was launched in County Kildare on 28 February 2019 in Áras Chill Dara, Naas.

This is a five-year plan for the period 2019 – 2023. A good start is half the work. Going forward now – we are looking to develop this plan, we are trying to strengthen a network between language activists and other people/groups in the county who are working on behalf of the Irish language.

Gnó Chill Dara_

Scéim Tacaíochta do Ghnóthaí – Business Support Scheme

Bunaíodh Cill Dara le Gaeilge chun tacaíocht a chur ar fáil do gnólachtaí sa chontae gur mian leo a gnó a chur chun cinn trí mheán na Gaeilge. Tá scéim Gnó Chill Dara ó Cill Dara le Gaeilge oscailte do gach sórt gnó; ní gá go mbeadh seirbhís i nGaeilge líofa ar fáil ón gnó – tá gach tacaíocht ar fáil do ghnó le Gaeilge bunúsach chomh maith. Cuirfimid ranganna Gaeilge agus pacáiste tacaíochta ar fáil ionas go mbeidh an gnó in ann páirt ratha a ghlacadh sa scéim. Is scéim chuimistheach í Gnó Chill Dara agus is féidir le haon ghnó pé Gaeilge atá acu a úsáid agus beidh fáilte rompu páirt a ghlacadh sa scéim seo.

Cuireann an t-eagras stáit Foras na Gaeilge clár leathan seirbhísí agus tacaíochta ar fáil do ghnóthaí chomh maith tríd a gclár Gnó Means Business. Cuirfidh Cill Dara le Gaeilge eolas faoin scéim seo ar fáil do gnóthaí i gContae Chill Dara chun úsáid phraiticiúil na Gaeilge a éascú agus a mhéadú laistigh den earnáil ghnó.

Creideann Cill Dara le Gaeilge gur féidir le húsáid na Gaeilge buntáistí, breisiúlacht agus deiseanna forbortha a thabhairt d’iomaí cíneál gnólachta ar dhóigheanna éagsúla: branda an ghnó a chur chun cinn, poiblíocht atá éagsúl, taithí an chustaiméara a fheabhsú agus dílseacht ó chustaiméirí a threisiú.

Cill Dara le Gaeilge was set-up to provide support to businesses in the county that want to promote their business through the Irish language. The Gnó Chill Dara scheme from Cill Dara le Gaeilge is open to all types of businesses – it is not necessary that the businesses can provide a full service in Irish – every support is also available to help businesses that have limited Irish. Will we provide access to Irish language classes and will also provide a starter support pack such that any business can take an active role in the scheme. Gnó Chill Dara is an inclusive scheme and any business that is willing to use the Irish that they have is welcome to join Gnó Chill Dara.

The state body, Foras na Gaeilge, also provides a broad programme of services and supports for businesses through their Gnó Means Business programme. Cill Dara le Gaeilge will help distribute this information to businesses in County Kildare, helping to facilitate an increase in the practical use of Irish within the business sector.

Cill Dara le Gaeilge believes that the use of Irish can provide advantages, growth and development opportunities for different types of businesses in a variety of ways: brand promotion, differentiated publicity, improved customer experience and increased customer loyalty.

Pobal

Tá Gaeilge labhartha ag na mílte daoine i gContae Chill Dara. De réir daonáireamh 2016, dúirt 85,426 duine go raibh cumas labhartha acu agus chuir 5,293 duine in iúl go mbíonn comhrá i nGaeilge acu ar a laghad uair amháin in aghaidh na seachtaine. Tá clanna i gContae Chill Dara go mbíonn an Ghaeilge mar theanga an tí, tá páistí gurb í an Ghaeilge a dteanga dúchais, bíonn grúpaí Gaeilgeoirí ag bualadh le chéile go rialta sa chontae agus tá fás agus forbairt ag teacht ar na seirbhísí atá ar fáil do lucht na Gaeilge.

Tá ard-spéis sa Ghael-oideachais sa chontae anois. Ó a osclaíodh an chéad Gaelscoil sa chontae i Léim an Bhradáin i 1979, osclaíodh ocht nGaelscoil eile agus dhá Ghael-Choláiste i gContae Chill Dara. Tá an Ghaeilge an-lárnach in Ollscoil Mhaigh Nuad – tá an roinn ollscoile Nua-Ghaeilge is mó sa tír in Ollscoil Mhá Nuad chomh maith le Lárionad na Gaeilge a eagraíonn scrúduithe TEG (Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge), Oifigeach Gaeilge lánaimseartha, Cuallacht Cholmcille (an cumann mac léinn don Ghaeilge is ársa sa tír) agus lárionad atá tiomnaithe don chultúr Gaelach.

Bíonn ranganna Gaeilge ar fáil ar fud fad an chontae chomh maith le ciorcail comhrá, grúpaí soisialta, Pop-Up Gaeltachtaí, grúpaí teaglaigh, féilte agus go leor imeachtaí eile a chuirtear ar siúl don phobal.

Is é an sprioc atá ag Cill Dara le Gaeilge ná tacaíocht a thabhairt do ghrúpaí nó gníomhaithe sa chontae atá ag cur imeachtaí nó seirbhísí ar fáil trí mheán na Gaeilge. Ba mhaith linn gréasán a fhorbairt idir grúpaí éagsúla, scéalta a scaipeadh eadarthu agus go mbeadh pobal na Gaeilge ar an eolas faoi céard atá ar siúl ina gceantair. Ba mhaith linn go mbeadh réimse leathan d’imeachtaí ar fáil trí mheán na Gaeilge agus déanfaimid ár ndícheall grúpaí a mhealladh chun imeachtaí nua a chur ar fáil.

The list of activities will be published in County Kildare. According to the 2016 census, 85,426 people said they had ability to speak and 5,293 people indicated that they have a conversation in Irish at least once a week. There are families in County Kildare where Irish is the language of the house, there are children whose native language is Irish, groups of Irish speakers meet regularly in the county and the services available to Irish speakers are growing and developing.Ara is in the scheme here shortly. The Irish language is welcome in these matters – but please be patient – not everyone is fluent in Irish.

There is now a high level of interest in Irish-medium education in the county. Since the opening of the county’s first Gaelscoil in Leixlip in 1979, eight more Gaelscoileanna and two Gael-Choláiste have opened in County Kildare. The Irish language is very central to Maynooth University – Maynooth University has the largest Modern Irish university department in the country as well as a Centre for Irish Language which organises TEG (Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge), a full-time Irish language officer, Cuallacht Cholmcille (the oldest student association for the Irish language in the country) and a centre dedicated to Irish culture.

Irish language classes are available throughout the county as well as conversation circles, social groups, Pop-Up Gaeltachtaí, family groups, festivals and many other events held for the public.

The goal of Cill Dara le Gaeilge is to support groups or activists in the county who are providing events or services through Irish. We want to develop a network between different groups, to spread stories between them and to make the Irish language community aware of what’s going on in their areas. We would like to see a wide range of events available through Irish and we will do our best to attract groups to provide new events.

Cultúrlann

Creideann Cill Dara le Gaeilge go bhfuil sé ríthábhachtach go mbeadh lárionad don Ghaeilge i gContae Chill Dara. Tá Cill Dara le Gaeilge ag obair leis an ngrúpa pobail Sult na Sollán chun an fhís seo a bhaint amach agus creideann an dá ghrúpa go mbeadh na Solláin fíor-oiriúnach mar ionad do chultúrlann, lárnach sa chontae do phobal na Gaeilge uilig.

Tá próiseas comhairliúchán poiblí tosaithe ag Comhairle Contae Chill Dara faoin dearadh a bheidh ar na tailte pobail nua sna Solláin agus sheol Cill Dara le Gaeilge aighneacht chuig Comhairle Contae Chill Dara mar cuid den phróiseas sin. Tá sé ar fáil anseo.

Cill Dara le Gaeilge believes that it is vital that there is a centre for the Irish language in County Kildare. Cill Dara le Gaeilge is working with the community group Sult na Sollán to achieve this vision and both groups believe that the Sallins would be a very suitable venue for a cultural centre, central to the county for the entire Irish language community.

Kildare County Council has commenced a public consultation process on the design of the new community lands in Sallins and Cill Dara le Gaeilge has made a submission to Kildare County Council as part of that process. It is available here.

Tailte pobail na Sollán – 41 acra

Tugann an doiciméad poiblí Tionsadal Éireann, Infheistíocht inár gCultúr, inár dTeanga & inár nOidhreacht léargas ar straitéis an stáit chun an Ghaeilge agus ionaid chultúrtha i mbailte seirbhíse don Ghaeltacht agus i Líonraí Gaeilge a fhorbairt. Tá Cill Dara le Gaeilge ag obair le rannpháirtithe eile sa cheantar go n-athnófaí Nás na Ríogh/Na Solláin mar líonra i rith 2021. Tá sé i gceist againn togra cuimsitheach a chur le chéile don rialtas go dtógfaí Ionad Pobail/Cultúrlann ar an suíomh seo sna Sollán chun freastal ar an bpobal áitiúil agus ar phobal na Gaeilge sa chontae.

The public document Project Ireland, Investment in our Culture, Language & Heritage, provides an insight into the state’s strategy to develop the Irish language and cultural centres in service towns for the Gaeltacht and in Irish Language Networks. Cill Dara le Gaeilge is working with other participants in the area to have Naas/Sallins re-established as a network during 2021. It is our intention to put together a comprehensive project for the government to build a Community/Cultúrlann Centre on this site in Sallins to serve the local community and the Irish language community in the county.
