Meitheal Chill Dara 2024

Tháinig pobal na Gaeilge i gContae Chill Dara lé chéile dá gcúigiú teacht le chéile bliantúil ar an 2 Márta in Ionad Tacaíochta Oideachais Chill Dara. Tugann Meitheal Chill Dara deis gach bliain do dhaoine a bhfuil suim sa Ghaeilge acu bualadh le chéile agus taithí agus smaointe a roinnt.

Is dírithe ar phleanáil teanga i gContae Chill Dara a bheidh an Mheitheal agus is í an t-aon imeacht pleanála teanga ar leibhéal contae dá leithéid in Éirinn. Tugann Meitheal Chill Dara deis líonraithe do phobal na Gaeilge, do ghníomhaithe teanga, do sholáthraithe seirbhíse, do ghnólachtaí agus d’aon duine a bhfuil spéis ghinearálta acu i bhforbairt na Gaeilge laistigh den chontae nuacht a roinnt, smaointe a mhalartú agus labhairt faoi phleananna don bhliain atá amach romhainn.

I mbliana, is é Glór an Churraigh a bhí ina óstach ar an Meitheal. I gcomhpháirt le Cill Dara le Gaeilge, chuir an grúpa oibre clár an-spéisiúil  le chéile. Bhí Eoghan Corry, údar agus staraí, ina aoichainteoir ag an gcomhdháil. Chuala an lucht féachana tuairisc ó na ceantar bhardasacha. Bhí grúpaí plé ann chomh maith. B’iontach an deis é seo bualadh le daoine atá ar an turas céanna leat. Giorraíonn beirt bóthar!

The Irish language community in County Kildare came together for their fifth annual gathering on 2 March in The Kildare Education Support Centre. Each year Meitheal Chill Dara gives people with an interest in the Irish language the opportunity to meet and share experiences and ideas.

The Meitheal will be focused on language planning in County Kildare and will be the only language planning event at county level of its kind in Ireland. Meitheal Chill Dara provides a networking opportunity for the Irish language community, language activists, service providers, businesses and anyone with a general interest in the development of the Irish language within the county to share news, exchange ideas and talk about plans for the year ahead.

This year, Glór an Churraigh will host the Meitheal. In partnership with Cill Dara le Gaeilge, the working group put together a very interesting programme. Eoghan Corry, author and historian was the guest speaker at the conference. Viewers heard a report from the municipal districts. There were also be discussion groups. This was a great opportunity to meet people who are on the same journey as you. Two shorten the road!

Meitheal Chill Dara 2023

Tháinig pobal na Gaeilge i gContae Chill Dara le chéile ar an 11ú Márta, don cheathrú Meitheal in Óstán an Glenroyal i Maigh Nuad. Ba iad Gaeilge Nuada a bhí ina óstach, den chéad uair, ar an imeacht i gcomhar le Cill Dara le Gaeilge agus chuireamar fáilte chroíúil roimh lucht labhartha Gaeilge an chontae.

Is dírithe ar phleanáil teanga i gContae Chill Dara a bhíonn an Mheitheal agus creidimid go bhfuil sé ríthábhachtach imeacht pleanála teanga dá leithéid a eagrú ar leibhéal contae.

The Irish language community in County Kildare met on Saturday, March 11st, in the Glenroyal Hotel in Maynooth for the annual Meitheal. Gaeilge Nuada hosted the event for the first time in conjunction with Cill Dara le Gaeilge and we warmly welcomed Irish speakers from across the county.

The Meitheal focuses on language planning in County Kildare and we believe that it is vital to hold such a language planning event at county level.
